Dazzling Cafe & J Story @ Capitol Piazza and St Andrew Cathedral

Hey guys, just gonna throwback to one awesome day out with the dear friend to discover many pretty things. Visited Capitol Piazza, a classy shopping mall which was revamped from the historical and once famous Capitol Theater. I was actually here to collect my faulty ASUS Zenbook which was only 2 weeks old, don't ask me why it died so quickly, it's just my luck with tech gadgets, I always get the faulty ones. Anyways, thanks to this faulty notebook, got to visit this beautifully restored Capitol Piazza. There's plenty of luxury brands, specialty stores and beautiful restaurants especially at the al fresco dining area. Obviously everything is beyond affordable, but oh well, just gonna dream for one day.

1. Capitol Theater Marquee

Personally think this megasize  Marquee is so awesome for OOTDs
well nothing special on my outfit, just a dress and heels to go.

2. Dazzling Cafe
To add some sugar to our pretty day, visited the once crazily raved Dazzling Cafe first outlet. I've passed by the one in Orchard before which was more spacious and all pink, but totally love this one in Capitol Piazza more. The Mint Green outlet is just, dreamy yet classy. Anyways, just like everyone else, we were here for the much raved honey toast.

Address: 15 Stamford Rd, 01-85 Capitol Piazza, Singapore 178906

There's a fake fireplace haha

Loving all the mint green details

Hazelnut Chocolate Honey Toast - S$19.90
This is really gooood, I really wasn't expecting this to taste awesome since overhyped things tends to disappoint. But gotta say I'm impressed with the delicious deep fried toast, we ordered it in crispy texture, the toast was both crunchy but it wasn't too greasy, probably because of the aroma of sweet hazelnut. The ice cream goes well with the toast but I think it's too much of ice cream, remember to move the ice cream aside first if you don't want too many ice cream sinking into the toast and turning them soft and soggy. It's expensive but oh well, at least it's delicious. One can feed two person.

Both of us ordered Milk Tea to compliment the toast
Wedding Imperial Milk Tea - 9
Earl Grey Black Tea with Milk - 7
Shiyien's Wedding Imprerial Milk Tea was pretty interesting, has a very flowery sweet aroma to it.
My earl grey milk tea taste pretty much like Taiwan's bubble tea shop's where fresh milk was use instead of milk powder.
The teapot allows up to 3 refills

The Al Fresco dining area at Capitol Piazza with many classy restaurants and cafe.

This tea room that caught my eye, looks like one of those TaiTai place.

Just outside of Capitol Piazza, you will see St Andrew's Cathedral located at the opposite
and we decided to pay a visit.

3. St. Andrew's Cathedral
To my surprise, there was a service going on and it was a Cantonese service! Feeling super intrigued we went in and was totally mesmerized by the beautiful interior of the church. And it was my first time attending a service in an ancient church, with those dark brown benches that has a table in front of you. Only seen this in movies and dramas and it certainly felt amazing to experience it. The beautiful interior with all the pretty arches and colorful stained glass, just makes everything feel "Holier". Okay I know I sound superficial haha. But anyways it was great listening to service, connecting with God again. If you would like to get a taste of attending service in an ancient cathedral, this is where you should go!

Back to the square and the Marquee sign was lit up! Time for more Photos heh
Purposely used a filter that makes the place look old haha

Btw, just to share where we had out lunch. We had Dakgalbi at J Story. It's one of the most affordable restaurants in the mall. They provide a range of Korean meals and there's set menu as well. There are free flow serving of Kimchi, Soup and some side dish.

Spicy Stir Fried Chicken S$19.80
Ramen - S$3.90
Green Tea - S$2
The Fried Chicken serves two, it taste okay but a little bit too spicy for me. But why I love Dakgalbi is really the mix of crunchy veggies and large chunks of chicken. There's rice cake and fish cakes as well. Everything I love haha. We added Ramyeon which absorbs all the yummy sauce.

If you have a day off, why not go to Capitol Piazza which is easily accessible via City Hall MRT. Visit the pretty St. Andrew Cathedral if you feel like exploring some history.

Homies by JWC @Taman Molek

Weeeeeeee, long time no write.
Just gonna quickly rave about this pretty cafe in JB (one more to add into the JB Cafe Hop List)
Bet you've heard of the JWC Group who are behind many pretty concept cafes in JB. I thought nothing could get better than The Factory 30 with its hipster, industrial style cafe concept. But I've found my new favorite. The cozy, homey yet stylish Homies by JWC at Taman Molek. Hipster cafes with dim lights and dark walls are are like everywhere. If you wanna take a break from those, this bright and warm cafe, with blue and white furniture is just so welcoming and comfy to hang out. Every corner is pretty much instagrammable.

the signature JWC sign

Menu that reminds me of IKEA

Rose Latte - RM11.50
goshhhh even this powder blue cup looks dreamy

Signature Hot Chocolate - RM12.00

Hot Mocha - RM11.80

Fruit Tea

Smoked Salmon Bagel - RM29.90
To be honest, was kinda startled by the price. But I was really craving for bagels ever since I got back from Taiwan. This was a good substitute with delicious smoked salmon to add on. Crunchy bagels with the salty smokey tender salmon slices and runny poach eggs. Awesome texture and it's delicious!

Japanese Curry Rice -- RM15.90
This was a simple yet satisfying meal. Crunchy chicken chops and the slightly spicy and sweet curry sauce. Rice disappeared in minutes.

To those who love taking photos, you don't have to try hard for that Insta-worthy shot.
best model, looking all natural reading his book haha

Awesome natural lighting for pretty selfies

and of course, can't leave without a 做作照

The Coastal Settlement & Chock Full of Beans

I think I've only traveled to the east for like a few times despite being my fourth year here. Hopefully that gives you an idea of how Pulau NTU gets its name haha. But I was doing my internship during the break and I bought the unlimited train pass. Traveling from one end of the green line till the other seems to be the best way to fully utilize it hehe.

It was a day well spent with the friends back from home, checking out the eastern coasts. But please don't expect like white beaches and blue waters haha. Btw all photos belongs to Vienna and Dan who were our photographers of the day.

The Coastal Settlement
Started our day with a lunch at The Coastal Settlement, a unique dining place located amidst the quiet neighborhood along Netheravon Road. The restaurant has old school interiors, with loads of furniture and objects from the old times. Give you the down-the-memory-lane sensation when I first stepped in but as you look closer, it has a very homey feeling. Love the vibe and I couldn't just leave without taking some photos haha. But the food was pricey given its taste, so I guess the bulk of the price goes to enjoying the nostalgic ambience.

Address: 200 Netheravon Rd, Singapore 508529

My favorite photo of the day. Treasure hunting with the girls.

Rosti with Sausage - S$23 and Hazelnut Latte - S$7

Pulled Pork Sandwich - S$23 and Mocha - S$6
Tender pulled pork strips with a savory sauce, together with soft and runny poached eggs. Quite good but....the price tag...

Continue Dora the Explorer game.

Found this pretty dressing table with the golden clock and candelabra, immediately thought of Beauty and the Beast!

Changi Boardwalk and Changi Beach
From TCS, we walked along Netheravon Road and continued into the Changi Boardwalk for a stroll along the coasts. The so call Changi Beach isn't really a beach after all, just a small stretch. We continued to walk, the wind was pretty strong and we could smell of fishy ocean in the air haha. Ignore that, the view was still enjoyable, with planes flying here and there. Turns out Changi Village is much nearer than i expected, in no time I saw the familiar ferry jetty where I took a ride to Pulau Ubin. The waters are much clearer and blue at the Changi Beach Park.

Mandatory OOTD shot

Changi Village: Chock Full of Beans Cafe
Upon our discovery of Changi Village, Sheauwen immediately suggested to go CFOB for coffee break and there's a particular reason why -- The cute 3D Latte Art. Anyways Changi Village has loads of eateries and hipster cafes around the area. I suppose it's a great place to hang out during the weekends, a getaway from the busy city, enjoying an afternoon while peeking to the sea. You can even go Ubin i believe.

Address: 4 Changi Village Road #01-2090, 500004

Portobello Benedict -- S$13
A vegetarian alternative of Eggs Benedict :) Nothing can go wrong with Portobello Mushroom seriously, love the juicy and chewy taste.

Wasn't expecting much from 3D Latte, but this Baymax made my day. So cutee...

Seriously...how can coffee be so adorable?
From Olaf (clockwise): Maple Latte - S$5.00, Ice Mocha - S$6.50, Rose Latte - S$5.90, Vanilla Latte - S$6.50

In a nutshell, it was a wallet burning day, but discoveries were great haha. Awesome day to relieve all the stress from a working week. And special thanks to the buddies who are willing to travel with me :D
